A one-off event looking at how to apply the principles of Historical English Swordfighting, to Live Action Role Play combat.

Come along and spend the day in a mixture of technical instruction in historical english Swordsmanship, and competitive games in the stunning location where "Gladiator" was filmed.
We will cover:

- How to Attack Safely
- Feints & Falses
- Counter Attacking
- Controlling your Opponent
- Dealing with Multiple Attackers

Chief Instructor of the English Martial Arts Academy

Martin "Oz" Austwick has been researching and teaching English Martial Arts for over 20 years. He has taught by invitation all over the world, and is one of the world's leading proponents of the Elizabethan English Backsword.
He runs a regular class in Guildford, Surrey, and created the first online distance learning program in Elizabethan Backsword Combat.
He is also a little bit too keen on 2nd Ed AD&D...

There will be some spare weapons, but please bring your own if you have them. It's always best to fight with something you are familiar with, and the principles taught will apply equally to any weapon.
